Terms of Service
Last updated: [PLACEHOLDER: date of first publication]
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SlimeStream (the "Service"), operated by [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name], a [PLACEHOLDER: entity type and jurisdiction, e.g. "company registered in Delaware, USA"] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What the Service does
SlimeStream lets you connect your own Google Drive account and upload video to it. We process (transcode), encrypt, and deliver that video back to you and to people you choose to share it with. Your video files are stored in your own Google Drive, not on servers we control — we never hold your account's unencrypted content or the key needed to decrypt it (see our Privacy Policy for how the encryption works).
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials and vault passphrase secure. Because of the zero-knowledge design, we cannot recover a lost vault passphrase — losing it means losing access to your encrypted content permanently, recovery-code backup notwithstanding. You must be at least [PLACEHOLDER: minimum age, e.g. 16 or 18 depending on jurisdiction] years old to use the Service.
3. Plans and billing
The Service is offered on a Free plan and paid Starter/Pro subscription plans, described on our Pricing page. Paid plans are billed [PLACEHOLDER: monthly, via Stripe/Paddle — fill in once billing is live]. Usage beyond your plan's included transcode-minute allowance is billed as overage at the rate stated on the Pricing page. [PLACEHOLDER: refund policy].
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to store or distribute content that violates applicable law or infringes someone else's rights. See our Acceptable Use Policy for specifics, and our DMCA Policy for how copyright claims are handled.
5. Content ownership
You retain all rights to the video and other content you upload. We claim no ownership over it. Because content is encrypted client-side before it ever reaches us, we have no practical ability to view, index, or use your content for any purpose other than storing and delivering the encrypted bytes you gave us.
6. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, with notice where practicable.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is." [PLACEHOLDER: standard warranty disclaimer and liability cap language — jurisdiction-specific, needs actual legal drafting].
8. Governing law
[PLACEHOLDER: governing law and dispute-resolution jurisdiction].
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced [PLACEHOLDER: notice method — email, in-app notification, etc.] before they take effect.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms: [PLACEHOLDER: contact email].
