1. How this actually works here

Video content on SlimeStream is end-to-end encrypted — we cannot view it ourselves. When a report is filed against a video (via the "Report" link on its share page), the report is held unverified until the reporter confirms their email address, to prevent anonymous spoofed takedown spam. Once confirmed, the video's owner is notified and given 72 hours to either provide the decryption key for review or have the report dismissed. If they do neither, the video is automatically deleted when the deadline passes. This is a deliberate design tradeoff for a zero-knowledge platform, not a substitute for the formal notice process below — a proper DMCA notice still triggers our formal obligations under the law.

2. Filing a takedown notice

To file a formal DMCA takedown notice, send the following to our designated agent (below). Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to locate it (e.g. the share link).
Your contact information: address, telephone number, and email address.
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
